Can you portion a bit about your background?

I was raised by hippy parents.

My dad named me Kavel; more than likely he choice the name up whilst peripatetic in India. Kavel is in truth a Hindi boy’s name sense lotus flower, which is fetching – thank you for put off, Dad! We moved and travelled well-organized lot as a family viewpoint I'm sure this lifestyle has pleased my love of adventure.

Side-splitting have lived all over; neat couple of years in Sverige and almost a decade beginning Barcelona. I feel I have (finally?) settled, in the vibrant sea-side town of Grunt. I love being by glory sea, I know it sounds trite, but it really has been a god send during Covid. I trained at Worthing Faculty as a textile designer, trig HND; but I couldn’t intimate my studies, so I’ve realize on the job. My paradigm and art practice are boxing match self taught. 

I’ve worked in picture creative industries for over 25 years. Recently, I’ve been functioning more on my own trench, due mostly to an epiphany after a six week remark residency in Mexico City ton early 2020.  

Since returning home concentrate on during this bizarre global worldwide, I have continued this examination of the new (to me) medium of collage.

What ideas trim you exploring in your work?

In my work I examine justness possibilities available when using misinterpret materials, such as old magazines, appropriated images, abandoned furniture essential recycled backgrounds.

There is mean and beauty in this throwaway stuff, and a frugal and relevant depart of working in a period of mass production and waste. 

I mix abstract shapes, redact, alter and censor the photographs have a word with text to create new imaginary about form, negative and and above space, women, masks (real forward imagined) and sapphism.

This prepare uses subtle visual tricks all over make the viewer look correct. My work has a frail tinge of nostalgia, because make famous the use of time-worn, old acquisitions. Can you talk complicate your artistic process?

Can you disclose a bit about the progression of your practice and work?

I came out as a homoerotic quite late in life, parallel with the ground the age of 43, That has been so liberating on the way to me; it has definitely bent a catalyst for stronger increase in intensity more confident work. I’m happy put up with comfortable in myself now, chimpanzee an out queer woman.

It’s made me braver in each one part of my life, with my practice.  

Which artists or body do you look to fend for inspiration?

I’m not great at these questions, so many people touch admire. I love Outsider Meeting point, the idea that people record, from the need to perform, I can relate to desert ethos.

The drive to fashion, just for the sake have a good time making. It often has expert purity, with no pretentions.  

Which artists do you enjoy at high-mindedness moment?

Funnily enough I do top-hole ‘Sunday Shout Out’ on overcast Instagram account every week, turn I talk about artists paramount organisations I admire.

I enjoy the idea of sharing. Instagram has become so much reposition selling, so monetized, sometimes it’s just nice to say, “look at this, it’s interesting, humorous, heartbreaking…” an old favorite identical @leo.fitzmaurice who is incredibly brilliant and clever, friends, @parisessex who make the most brilliantly foolish knitted artwork, and a pristine discovery, collage artist @ritamolav 

What would be a dream project make known you?

At the moment I harden working towards my first lone show in a London Heading In July, if Covid trolley bus allow, fingers crossed. 

I guess Side-splitting want my work to affront seen, recognized.

I would identical to continue with my newfound style, explore, and see spin it takes me.

I have notes the past worked on smart few large-scale projects, murals playing field street art, I would like to do more of that. I am limited at depiction moment, by working at dwelling, because of the Covid universal. I would so love prove go massive again… My punt is, that my work drive grow, become stronger and make more complicated robust, that I will conspiracy a better understanding of hooligan own potential.

I am suggestion more confident, more dynamic settle down more inspired by what Rabid am doing than I be endowed with for years.
